Christmas

We had a pretty good time throughout the holiday season. Mavi was very into presents and Santa this year and really seemed to enjoy it all DESPITE the horrendous Santa picture. On Christmas eve we went to our neighbor's house. There were a bunch of people there, but Eric was sick so he made an appearance and went home. We ate tons of good food and built gingerbread structures. It was freakin' hilarious. Let me just say 2 crazy kids and lots of wine do not make for beautiful gingerbread trains. The kids got an enormous snake from Darlene. We are talking like 8 feet long. INSANE! On Christmas morning Mavi got up and started looking for Santa. He was pretty pissed that Mr. Claus was already gone since he thought Christmas meant Santa was coming to hang out. He got over it when he saw his presents though. He was sooo excited! The kids have 2 very different styles of present opening. Mavi tears off the paper, glances at the gift and moves right on to the next one. Keenen, on the other hand, refused to leave my lap to open ANYTHING. Not that he had to sit on my lap, he just wouldn't open anything. After about 45 minutes of Mavi asking to open Keenan's presents, I said "Fine, just ask him if it's ok first." So while I made breakfast Maveric opened all of Keenan's presents. It was hilarious. He would open whatever it was up and then hand it to Keenan and say something along the lines of "oooh Keenan, look, a puzzle!" and then Keenan would get all excited and play with the toy for a while. Wonder what Keenan's bday will be like. Anyway. Then we went to Mike and Amy's house for more food and fun. We stayed there almost all afternoon, then headed back to Denver to Mike and Maegan's house. Maegan did a "stay in your jammies" Christmas, which I thought was the best idea I have ever heard of. The fed the kids a kazillion grams of sugar and watched the insanity of Keenan and Mavi on sugar. It was pretty funny. Right when I said "um... no more sugar- Keenan's gonna lose it" he starts running in circles screaming at the top of his lungs. We could not have planned it better! We went over there the next night and they were a little leery of giving the kids sugar. Lesson learned. For all of us. New Year's Eve was spent with more neighbors and their grandkids. Again, wine and fun had by all.

YES JAMI, I AM FINALLY PUTTING SOME PICS UP!

Mavi playing by our mini Christmas tree. Cute antlers. I think those were from a party we went to a couple of years ago at Micah and Missy's house. Guests were supposed to dress up in a Christmas outfit. Eric wore those and I (being 7 or 8 months pregnant) wore a red shirt with a bow. I think I started going into labor with Keenan that night. Hmm....
Mavi could not get enough of these boots. We have a video I'm going to try to put up here of him walking around in 'em.
Notice the hats Mav picked out in this photo. Bong and Jaggermeister.
BATMAN!
